Welcome to The Millennial Career
I created my first blog in the autumn of 2006, for a New Media class I was taking at university. Back then, blogs really were new media, and the goal was for us to experiment directly with what technology enabled us to do at the time. It was fun, and I caught the bug.
While back in 2006 I was not really sure what to write about on my blog, now, almost two decades later, I do. I will write about my career and my life - how they intertwine and how they feed off of each other. I will share everything I’ve learnt from the early 2000s until now about building a career and a life you enjoy. My hope for you is that some of what I share will help you. Perhaps it is seeing a different perspective, or picking up a trick and trying it yourself. Or, simply, getting inspired to go and make the most of what your own life and career have to offer.
Don’t get me wrong - I am doing this for myself first. I want a place - out in the open - where I can share what I’ve learnt, as a way to remember it myself, and to build a repository of wisdom to go back to whenever I need it. But, at the same time, dear reader, I very much hope this blog is for you too. I hope you will learn from my experience: my mistakes, my wins, my losses, my lessons and everything in between.
This is my millennial career.
